Transfer Application Process
Transfer to ODU
Ohio Dominican welcomes undergraduate international students intending to transfer from an educational institution in the USA to ODU in Columbus.
Students who are currently in the USA in F-1 (student) visa status and have been accepted for admission to Ohio Dominican University must have their SEVIS record transferred to ODU.
An I-20 Form cannot be issued by ODU until the SEVIS record has been transferred.
Once admitted you will receive information on how to transfer your immigration record to Ohio Dominican.

Ohio Dominican’s Global Connections Grant provides free on-campus housing to undergraduate international students during their first year attending ODU.
Global Connections Grant Benefits:
- All international applicants are considered for the grant during the admissions review process.
- Combine with any merit scholarships earned.
- Valid for first full year attending Ohio Dominican.*
*You are responsible for any housing costs on or off-campus once your first-year of undergraduate studies at ODU is complete. This grant does not cover your meal plan and other board costs.

- First-time freshman: Please submit original copies of your secondary school transcripts to Ohio Dominican
University. Your transcripts
should be sent from your school.
Transfer applicants: If you have taken university* courses previously, please submit your official university transcripts directly to Ohio Dominican University for admission and transfer credit review.
*If your university is outside the United States, you will be required to bring syllabi and course descriptions (in English) for all courses taken to be reviewed by an academic adviser.
Applicants must also submit the results of any standardized examination that they have taken (for example O and A-levels, SSCE, CXC, IB etc.).

The IB Program is a rigorous pre-university course of studies leading to examinations. At Ohio Dominican University, you may be eligible to receive credit based on the results of your IB higher level examinations. No credit is awarded for standard level examinations.

To be admitted to Ohio Dominican with a full academic course load, applicants for whom English is not their first language must meet the following requirements.
- Successful completion of ELS level 109

The financial sponsor and guarantor of the applicant must complete a Declaration of Finances Form. Please read and compete the form carefully.
An I-20, the immigration document required to apply for a visa, to enter the U.S. and to study at ODU, cannot be issued to an accepted student, if this is not properly and accurately completed.

Along with the Declaration of Finances form, evidence that the applicant's financial
guarantor has funds available for at least the first year must also be submitted.
Sufficient evidence would include a current bank statement in the name of the sponsor
on bank letterhead or an official Offer Letter for a scholarship or fellowship.
The documents must be less than one year old. An I-20 cannot be issued without the completed form as well as evidence of financial support.
