PantherPortfolio

Ohio Dominican’s ePortfolio initiative, called “PantherPortfolio” is powered by CourseNetworking (CN), a dynamic online platform that offers lifelong, social, and academic webpages to showcase student learning experiences, competencies, and achievements.

Students, faculty, and staff have access to CN to create your own portfolio demonstrating your learning, experiences, growth, creativity, achievements, and passions. Explore some sample CN PantherPortfolios below and then get started on your own! If you’ve already created a CN portfolio, click the button below to login.

ODU participated in a year-long Institute on ePortfolios through the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) in 2023-2024. A project team explored the use of ePortfolios for assessing ODU’s university student learning outcomes, which included professional development, mentoring from ePortfolio experts, learning about ePortfolio tools and platforms, and writing a proposal for ePortfolio implementation at ODU.

Members of the PantherPortfolio team conducted pilot projects using ePortfolios in The pilot projects supported university learning outcomes in the areas of civic engagement and global learning across academic and non-academic curriculum.

Core 479, Liberal Arts Capstone, Dr. Kelsey Squire
Students created a portfolio using CN to reflect on their two most meaningful learning experiences: one within their major, and one outside their primary area of study. This portfolio project helped prepare students to find a focus for their Core 479 capstone research project.

English 216,  Survey of American Literature, Dr. Kelsey Squire
Students chose from topics on Civic Engagement, Ethical Reasoning, and Meaningful Reasoning to write showcases of their understanding. They created an ePortfolio using the free software, Course Networking (CN), wrote a “bio,” and added at least two showcases.

Philosophy 346, Principles of Business Ethics, Dr. Lindsey Mason
Students created a portfolio using CN and selected one or more Position Presentation Video Assignments from course assignments to showcase in the portfolio. The showcase could include reflection on how completing the assignment met one or more of the criteria in the ODU University Learning Outcome of Civic Engagement and Global Learning.

The PantherPortfolio team hosted a workshop for faculty in spring 2024. The team discussed the benefits of using ePortfolios, shared examples from ODU faculty, staff, and students, and provided information on how to participate in a future pilot project. A workshop on reflective pedagogy will be offered in 2025.
