ODU’s Wehrle Gallery Announces 2023-24 Art Exhibition Schedule

Ohio Dominican University’s Wehrle Gallery has released its exhibition schedule for the 2023-24 academic year. The theme of the upcoming year’s exhibitions is “Celebrating the Arts Community of Ohio Dominican University,” which will highlight the extensive arts community at, and associated with, ODU. Featured exhibitions will include works by a new full-time instructor in the Art department, as well as artist whose late mother graduated from ODU and whose sister currently is a student. Items from ODU’s permanent collection also will be on display. As is tradition, the exhibition year will end with its Senior Exhibition.

The Wehrle Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free. The gallery is located on ODU’s campus at 1216 Sunbury Road, Columbus, 43219.

Eliana Calle-Saari: A Life in Printmaking
Aug. 20 – Sept. 29, 2023
Opening reception: 1-3:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023
A native of Colombia and ODU’s newest faculty member in its Art and Design department, Eliana Calle-Saari is one of the Midwest’s most important printmakers.

Oasis of Escapism – New Work by Susanna Harris
Oct. 22, 2023 – Jan. 14, 2024
Opening reception: 1-3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Susanna Harris is an interdisciplinary artist who works in print media and installation. She uses her own personal and collective experiences with loss, disease and grief to explore the interconnectedness of ecological destruction, human fragility and resilience.

22nd Annual Wehrle Holiday Art Market

Now in its 22^nd year, the Wehrle Holiday Art Market is a place where ODU students, faculty, and staff sell their handmade goods to the community at college prices and support the Buy Local movement!

Ohio Dominican University senior Art and Design majors will curate an exhibition that draws from ODU’s Permanent Collection, which focuses on American illustration and painting, and a substantial art glass collection.

Celebrate with ODU’s graduating seniors. This exhibition is the capstone of Art, Art Education, and Graphic Design students, and features a range of content and media.
