Annie Killian, OP, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of English at ODU and a Dominican
Sister of Peace. Her publications on religion, literature, and church reform in fifteenth-century
England have appeared in "Speculum: A Journal of Medieval Studies," "Studies in the
Age of Chaucer," and "The Yearbook of Langland Studies." Between 2021-23, she served
as the inaugural Public Humanities Fellow for the Medieval Institute at the University
of Notre Dame. Her current projects include a monograph on reform and the religious
lyric in fifteenth-century England, and an article on Julian of Norwich and compassionate
solidarity.
At ODU, Dr. Killian teaches college writing and seminars in the Core curriculum. In
addition to teaching and writing, she has expertise in academic community engagement,
higher education for the incarcerated, and nonviolent peacemaking.
